Math, Programming, and Research

“When students encounter good teachers like you, it benefits them for a life time.”

A Parent of a Student from the 2023 Pre-Algebra and AMC 8 Classes

We are a dedicated math school with Dr. Xue as an advisor and mentor, supporting many students at various stages of their studies. We believe that math should be fun and engaging, and students should be challenged at an appropriate level. To achieve this, we create personalized education programs tailored to individual needs and schedules. Our programs emphasize solid training in foundational math skills and fosters the development of intuition needed to solve complex problems. We prioritize creativity and value quality over speed.

We offer programs tailored to all students who have a genuine interest in learning, and we are committed to helping them reach their full potential, regardless of their current academic level. For students who excel in math, we guide them to participate in math competitions such as AMC 8, MATHCOUNTS, AMC 10, AMC 12, AIME, and USA(J)MO and explore research projects in applied math and data science.

Our student teachers offer private tutoring and co-teach alongside with Dr. Xue in subjects including, but not limited to, Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, AMC 8, and MATHCOUNTS. They do so with professionalism and at an affordable rate. In addition to teaching K-12 math, programming, and research classes, Dr. Xue also instructs a range of college-level math topics, mentors undergraduate and graduate students in academic and career development, and provides ongoing training and support for our student-teacher team.

About Our Classes & Camps

    • Student-Centered Approach

Our small-group classes are student-centered and scheduled according to students' needs. Most classes are developed based on student requests. Typically, students enroll in one or two classes each week. Returning students are given priority to enroll before new students.

    • Focus on Depth, Breadth, and Long-Term Growth

We don't simply follow the explanations in the chosen textbooks. Instead, we enhance the material in key areas and supplement it with our own resources when needed. We integrate advanced mathematics and real-world applications to expand students' understanding, ensuring that each concept is connected to a broader context. These enhancements are grounded in Dr. Xue's deep expertise in the subject.

    • High-Quality Video Classes

We offer a comprehensive collection of pre-recorded video lectures and live session recordings, available for students to subscribe to for self-paced study. Each recording is accompanied with the corresponding PDF note. Students can schedule Q&A or private tutoring sessions at an additional cost.

      Classes Overview

    • Our balanced approach goes beyond the Art of Problem Solving curriculum, prioritizing a deep understanding of fundamental concepts and methods, while integrating problem-solving, research thinking, and real-world applications. We focus on fostering lifelong learning, using competitions as just one tool to inspire curiosity and develop critical thinking for long-term success.

Other Programs

    • Dr. Xue offers open-ended team research projects for high school students, based on recent NSF-funded research in applied mathematics, computational biology, or data science. These carefully designed projects give students the opportunity to learn proper research methodologies, develop the right attitudes, and present their findings at local science fairs.

This program is inspired by Dr. Xue’s NSF Career Award and her experience as a research project mentor for gifted high school students through the Summer Institute hosted by the Ohio Supercomputer Center.

Prospective Students

If you have any questions about our programs, please complete the New Student Inquiry Form. If you are interested in joining our programs, please fill out the New Student Intake Form. Some students begin with a few private lessons with Dr. Xue before committing to a long-term course plan. This approach gives them a head start and provides personalized guidance on their study plan for the next year or two. Others opt for a few trial lessons in our small-group classes or subscribe to our pre-recorded video lessons for self-guided study. New students can take up to three trial lessons, paying per session. This trial period not only offers a valuable opportunity for students to explore our classes but also allows us to assess whether our programs are a good fit for them and provide professional recommendations for their learning options. If you are unsure which course to start with, feel free to request a diagnostic test.
